Kiki and jiji goes on an art retreat! I’ve always wanted to be able to pack my supplies and go paint somewhere in nature. I’d imagine it would look like this… one of my favorite compositions so far.

This piece combines two of my childhood favorites: Totoro and Van Gogh's The Starry Night. It’s a simple tribute to the very first artworks that made me fall in love with art.
A more subtle nod to Klimt’s Flower Garden painting. Althought he is mostly known for his famous painting “The Kiss”, “Flower Garden” is one of his few pieces where he incorporates techniques of impressionism to mix in with his signature mosaic style.
A study of grass field and flower gardens inspired by my favorite paintings from Monet.
Hokusai’s work actually inspired many of the impressionist painters that we know today including Monet, and Van Gogh (post-impressionist). In my series, “Ghibli x History Classics”.
A more subtle Ghibli x Van Gogh painting. Making this series made me realize how many scenes in studio ghibli are so simple yet pretty, i could go on forever just painting ghibli scenes…
This paintings combines Monet’s iconic Water Lilies with one of the prettiest scenes from Spirited away, the train scene. I decided to combine them together because these are some of my favorite comforting scenes to look back at to feel calm.

"A heart's a heavy burden." - Sophie in “Howl’s Moving Castle”
One of the many magical scenes from Howl and Calcifer that captivated me. The animation, the colors are simply chef-kiss.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see Shizuku and Seiji enjoy a cozy stroll down Van Gogh’s Café Terrace at night and this is what i thought the scene would look like
While I love all the ghibli movies, I relate mostly to kiki’s story as an artist trying to find their own place with their art.
